The Highlander Arms - country pub hospitality

Enjoy the warmth of a country pub at The Highlander Arms… A real Tasmanian pub with home made food...
The Highlander Arms at Tarraleah, Tasmanian fair using local fresh seasonal produce in modern bistro settings, is another great offering for the gourmet traveller visiting the Tasmanian Lakes Disctrict. The Highlander Arms offers guests country hospitality in a modern pub/bistro style setting with a great selection of local wines and beers.
The cosy English style pub has a wide range menu that will cater for most tastes. The chef uses only fresh ingredients, locally sourced where possible, and all meals are prepared by hand. The menu regularly changes according to the season.
A Favorite of the locals, you may run into Captain Kim. If so, buy him a drink and ask him to tell you the secret of where to get the BIG trout!
Sit back an enjoy an after dinner drink in front of the fire in the reading room next door to the bar. The Highlander Arms reading room is stocked with a range of interesting antique books, magazines and items found on site - many of them dating back to the early 1930's.
No booking necessary but if you have any special dietary requirements then let reception know by 2:00pm and the chef can prepare something to your liking. Childrens menu is available.
The Highland Arms menu is innovative and the kitchen will even cook that enormous trout you caught – as long as you understand that the cooking process can shrink fish - so we will just have to trust you about how big it really was.
