Tarraleah Scholars House Accommodation
Nestled in Tarraleah Village, The Scholars House offers studio apartment accommodation to visitors exploring the surrounding Tasmanian Highlands. Originally the Tarraleah School, Scholars House has been beautifully restored into studio apartment accommodation while still retaining some original parts of the old school.
At its height the school served a town population of 1800 people. After the town closed in 1997 and the houses were demolished, the school continued to operate and serve the local villages of Bronte Park, Bradies lake and some local farms. By 2002 the school was operating in a ghost town and finally closed down after nearly 70 years of operation.
Today visitors can explore the history of Tarraleah while staying in modern studio style loft apartments, just a short stroll away from a range of village activities and dining options.
